Form Builder Overview

Form Builder creates standard fillable text fields in a PDF you already have. Use it when a PDF is flat or is missing the text fields you need.

Open Form Builder

How The Workflow Works

  1. Open a PDF in Form Builder.
  2. Add text fields manually, run assisted detection, or use both.
  3. Review every field placement and name.
  4. Move, resize, rename, or delete fields as needed.
  5. Sign in when you are ready to export.
  6. Download <original-basename>_fillable.pdf.

Detection runs in your browser. It proposes possible fields from visible horizontal lines, but it is not automatic conversion and does not replace review.

Privacy And Drafts

  • Upload, detection, editing, and review remain in your browser.
  • One unfinished draft may be stored in your browser using IndexedDB.
  • The draft contains the original PDF and reviewed editor state, not finalized output.
  • Only an explicit authenticated export sends the source PDF and reviewed field metadata to Doqlo.
  • Export processing is RAM-only and returns the generated PDF directly without long-term document storage.

Current Limits

  • Text fields only
  • PDFs up to 20 MB
  • Up to 100 pages
  • Up to 500 reviewed fields
  • Field names up to 64 characters
  • Password-protected, encrypted, XFA, and unsupported page-box PDFs are not supported

Existing AcroForm fields are preserved in the exported PDF, but Form Builder does not import or edit them.

Product Boundary

Form Builder is an always-free utility. It has no subscription, monthly export quota, .doqlo project format, Cloud Delivery workflow, background job, or public API.
